When seeking mental health services, if you are under the age of 26 you may qualify for insurance under your legal guardian or parent through their employment status. If you have this qualification, you may receive services at an insurance company rate. To be able to find the right psychiatrist or psychologist for you, you may seek a referral via your primary care physician. This is the first letter of advice I give to all of my friends or peers who are seeking mental health services. 

If you have a job, you may qualify for insurance that may also reduce the cost of mental health services. Keep in mind, any time a job if offering insurance, it takes a percentage out of each pay check to provide the insurance. However, nothing in this life is free, so as you grow to invest in yourself, your health is of the upmost importance. 

It is of the utmost importance to have a support group of compassionate and patient individuals as you embark on your mental health journey. Whether this support is from your chosen family, relatives, or from others who have overcome the same obstacles, it is imperative to connect with people who support you through your struggles and accomplishments.

In Patient Care in cases of on-site psychiatric rehabilitation, where one may be in a controlled, facility for around-the-clock treatment and supervision. You may be diagnosed, receive medical care, housing, and meal preparation, as well as have mental health therapy practices that suit your needs. One may receive inpatient care if they find themselves unable to care for themselves or harm themselves or another person.

 Outpatient treatment, on the other hand, has a variety of different presentations and depends on the type one wishes to receive. Specifically, outpatient treatment encases treatment provided while a client balances their everyday routine as well. They do not receive inpatient treatment where they stay on site overnight. One may receive once-a-month therapy, group therapy, telehealth appointments, or any form of individualized therapy that best fits the clients needs.
